I will discuss how I came to know about the program, my journey through the application process, and the overall costs involved. Stay tuned to learn more about my experience with the OASIS Program!
Startup Visa
After doing a Working Holiday in Korea, my dream to live in Korea has become bigger than ever. I couldn't imagine going back to Germany and living a "normal" life anymore. I couldn't find any feasible options out there. One thing I found is to invest 100 Million Won ($75,000) into a business. One day, while walking down the street looking for something to eat, I met a friend and asked her what visa she was on. That moment opened a whole new option I had never considered or heard about. It's called the OASIS (Overall Assistance for Start-up Immigration System) Program or the Startup Visa! After doing some research and hearing my friend talk about it, I found the process quite simple. Today, I'm going to break it down for you.
You don't need to create the next Facebook or Uber or raise a large amount of money. Opening a simple online business is a more accessible and feasible way to live in Korea under the OASIS Program.

My Journey on Establishing my Corporation in Korea
After going back to Germany, I was determined to live in Korea. One of the things I needed to sort out was getting my bachelor's and master's degree apostilled. I wasn't familiar with the concept of apostille, but it's a convention that verifies the authenticity of your degree. Additionally, I made sure to check the schedule of the OASIS classes and signed up to earn all the necessary points.
My goal was to live in Korea without being tied to a Korean company and working excessively. I have heard from many friends about the long hours they work. If I choose to live in Korea, I want to do it on my own terms and have the freedom as a digital nomad to go wherever and whenever I want, while being based in Korea. Because Korea is such a fantastic country to live in.
I'm happy enough to have a friend that guided me through the whole process and she was always just one step ahead and told me exactly how to do it.
